Pretty Lady Ponders

This is another study done on digital format. My aim is to create underpainting in digital then print them out on paper and stretch them on board. Then coat them with pastel ground and glazing the work with pastels. So far in my first test Rembrandts are a bit opaque and I will try again. I also have PanPastel which might Be a bit more translucent.

I did note on the last image I printed when I wet the paper the ink did smear a little so I may need to need to allow it to dry a bit more. Also to be careful not to brush the water in the direction of any detail, even though I’m going over the top with pigment and re-adjusting the details. The paper also didn’t lay flat after the application of pastel ground but it wasn’t objectionable to work.

I need to test some on a board stretched to see if it will flatten out.
