A Creole Woman #3 - Introspection

This drawing is from one of my personal photo references. I’m going to start using more images from my personal catalog instead of the amazing image references I find on the internet. I originally got into photography so I could create a reference library for my illustration when I was still doing pen and ink and airbrush illustrations so long ago. I have tons of images I could reference and I’m going to start using that resource.

I have a lot of great shots that translate well into drawing and painting. Some of them were shot pretty flat though and though they make for wonderful advertising type images they make for poor subjects as hand drawn artwork. Sometimes there is a happy medium that you can cajole into a decent work.

You can look forward to many more works from my personal resource library as soon as I’m done scanning the images I think work the best. Who knows. Maybe I’ll find myself knocking the dust off of my camera and shooting more specifically for the task once again. I can always use my iPhone.
